At 3:00 PM on Sunday afternoon, November 24, the 60-voice Hudson-Mohawk Chorale, led by its Founding Artistic Director Susan Hermance Fedak, will present a concert at the Carl B. Taylor Auditorium on the campus of SUNY Schenectady (formerly known as Schenectady County Community College). The program, titled "Shakespeare and Company," will feature a selection of 20th- and 21st- century choral settings of texts written by William Shakespeare and his contemporaries.
Music of four composers will be presented. John Rutter's six-movement "When Icicles Hang;" Roger Quilter's "Three Shakespeare Songs" arranged for chorus by Linda Spevacek; "Songs and Sonnets," a six-movement work composed by jazz pianist George Shearing; and "Three Shakespearean Miniatures," a new work by the Chorale's accompanist and composer-in-residence, Alfred Fedak.
